The Australian Defence Vessel (ADV) Ocean Shield is an Offshore Support Vessel which is usually moored at the Garden Island dockyards, in the eastern suburb of Potts Point. The ship was built for a Norwegian shipping company and originally named MVS Skandi Bergen. During construction, the vessel was sold to the Royal Australian Navy. It began naval service on 30 June 2012, when it was renamed Ocean Shield.
