Maroubra, monument

This monument is located along Marine Parade, overlooking Maroubra Beach, in the eastern suburb of Maroubra. The anchor is from the 'Tekapo', a steamship wrecked on shallow reef at southern end of Maroubra Beach in 1899. It was recovered in 1986 by local diver Greg Tannos and installed here near the Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club.

  1. Lots of great elements - texture, shadows, scenery -- and what an interesting fence with its squiggly lower railing!

    Visiting from Good Fences #22.
