Woolloomooloo, terrace houses

These terrace houses are located along Forbes Street in the inner city suburb of Woolloomooloo.

  1. How cool these row houses are! Minus the satellite roof dish, I imagine I am on Oz 100 years ago - good style lasts a long time!

  2. I think some architect was having a northern European fantasy in this group of terrace houses. The ground floor looks normal for Australia while the top floor looks like gingerbread houses from Netherlands? Scandinavia? Northern Germany?

  3. what fun houses! Beats the heck out of some American townhouses that resemble "stack-a-shack" ant hills. Cheers and thanks for all your interesting photos!

  6. The peachy color contrasts so well with the blue sky, I like the gingerbread frosting curves too. Woolloomooloo seems like a fun place to visit.

    1. I'm not a fan of much reality television. They did two in Bondi, one in Manly and one in Vaucluse but all the rest have been in Melbourne.

  13. Great catch. My first thought was they reminded me of some homes in San Francisco, and then I started thinking coo-coo clocks.
