Botanic Gardens, Allan Cunningham Obelisk

The Allan Cunningham Obelisk is located in the middle of a pond beside the Botanic Gardens Restaurant in the Royal Botanic Gardens. Allan Cunningham was an explorer, botanist and a Superintendent of the Botanic Gardens. This monument is almost always in the shadows making it difficult to photograph but luckily at this time of year the sun shines straight above, in the middle of the day.

  1. That's a really beautiful spot. You can also link up with this weeks Friday My Town Shoot Out. The theme is also "Reflections".

  6. I wonder if the position is intentional?
