This war memorial is located in Camperdown Park, in the inner west suburb of Camperdown. The war memorial is a marble statue of an Australian soldier, with rifle, standing atop a sandstone plinth. The memorial and a garden of Rosemary for remembrance are surrounded by a picket fence. It commemorates those who from the suburb who died in service or were killed in action during World War 1. The inscription reads: In Memory Of The Men Who Enlisted Locally And Fell In The Great War 1914-1919 Having Faithfully Served Their King And Country. Erected By The Citizens Of Camperdown.
Dignified and poignant.
