General Post Office
The western façade of the General Post Office (GPO) building, along George Street near the corner of Martin Place. The GPO was constructed in stages from 1866 to 1891 and was designed by colonial architect James Barnet in the Victorian Free Classical architectural style.

ReplyDeleteIt's use has certainly changed in recent years so that most of the building now houses shops and restaurants. The good news though is it still contains a post office in this part of the building, even if it is smaller than it had been.
