This photograph has been installed on a wall of the MLC Centre on the corner of Rowe Street and Lees Court. It shows the Lincoln Cafe which operated here during the 1940s and a1950s. Rowe Street is off Pitt Street and originally ran to Castlereagh Street before the MLC Centre was built in the 1970s. Rowe Street was a centre of bohemian life with, cafes, boutique shops and galleries behind the Theatre Royal.
very nice, great work
ReplyDeleteVery retro!
ReplyDeleteThe photo adds a sense of dimension to the corner. Almost like a scene from an old movie.
ReplyDeleteGreat life-size mural. It really gives the feeling what is lost. Nice one.
ReplyDelete...wonderful.

ReplyDeleteFashions in those days were so debonair!

ReplyDeleteHappy Monday to you

Great captured
ReplyDeletethis is so beautiful and three-dimensional.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Is it actually a photo or a painting?
ReplyDeleteIt's a blown up photo on a metallic surface so it may have involved paint to produce.
DeleteIt's amazing how the era is so effectively and immediately conveyed with the clothes. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
