"Moonman" is a sculpture outside Dulwich Hill Public School in Kintore Street Reserve, which was created by Adam Galea in 2012. It is located on the corner of Hercules Street and Kintore Street, in the inner west suburb of Dulwich Hill. Because it is located near the primary school, the artist chose to create something based on the nursery rhyme 'The Sandman', which has a line about the man in the moon. He was inspired to create the moon man as a sentinel or guardian for the site, who serves as a beacon to soothe, protect and inspire those who wonder by.

ReplyDeleteThe pose is familiar but I’m drawing a blank on the face.
ReplyDeleteUnique.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it needs some explanation!
ReplyDeleteSallie, I found some information about it from the artist on a nearby plaque and have shared it in the post.
