This illuminated artwork is located at Jesse Street Gardens, along Loftus Street at Circular Quay, as part of the Vivid Sydney Festival, which runs from 26 May to 17 June 2023. "The Hive" was created by Australian artist Josh Macauliffe, also known as Beam Hacker. The giant hive of glistening hexagon honeycombs in a black frame, resemble a beekeeper's view through glass and the glow echoes the magic, liveliness and everyday beauty of a bee's vital busy work.
