Kogarah, mural

This mural featuring reeds and a creek is on the side of the former Kogarah Civic Centre extending to the footpath and transformer, located on the corner of Post Office Lane and Wicks Lane, in the southern suburb of Kogarah. The suburb name Kogarah is derived from an indigenous word meaning “Place of Reeds”. The administration building was for the former City of Kogarah local government area which had reeds in its logo. The local council merged with the Hurstville City Council in 2016, to form the Georges River Council.

  4. How wonderful and imaginative to have the creek spill off the wall onto the sidewalk. It took what could be dull and utilitarian and created true art.
