Kogarah, mural

This mural featuring reeds and a creek is on the side of the former Kogarah Civic Centre, located along on the corner of Post Office Lane and Wicks Lane, in the southern suburb of Kogarah. The suburb name Kogarah is derived from an indigenous word meaning “Place of Reeds”. The administration building was for the former City of Kogarah local government area which had reeds in its logo. The local council merged with the Hurstville City Council in 2016, to form the Georges River Council.
