This mural is on eastern concourse wall of the Waterloo metro station, an underground station in the inner city suburb of Waterloo. The station is on the Sydney Metro North West & Bankstown Line and opened in 2024 when the Metro North West Line was extended from Chatswood to Sydenham via Central. The 9.7-metre-high portrait is of an Aboriginal boy named Roscoe, a young dancer from the local Brolga Dance Academy with traditional body paint, holding a boomerang. The black-and-white, perforated metal artwork was created by artist Nicole Monks with photographer Wayne Quilliam and celebrates local Indigenous culture and youth as future leaders.
