Pumphouse Bar & Restaurant is located along Little Pier Street at Darling Harbour. It was designed and built in 1891 in the Italianate Baroque style, originally as Hydraulic Pumping Station No.1 for the Sydney and Suburban Hydraulic Power Company. Water was pumped from Sydney's water supply and stored in a large water tank. The water was then pumped across the city to various buildings which utilised the water under pressure as a source of power. In 1975 the building was restored and redeveloped to become the Pumphouse Brewery and Tavern.

Great design. And amazing that a building as functional as a pumping station was not razed to the ground.
