Petersham, railway station

This view of a train is from footbridge above the platforms of the railway station in the inner west suburb of Petersham. The station opened in 1857 and is served by Sydney Trains T2 Leppington & Inner West Line and occasional T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line services. This train, however, is on another line which passes through but does not stop at this station.

  1. I like this photo! Not just because of the shadows. I only have a freight train that runs through town, stopping at the mill and the grain elevator. That makes it sound like a rural place, but it really isn't!

  2. I, again, wish we hadn't destroyed our American train system the way we did. I like your train station photos.

  3. What I like about this image is the people. We see the train. It's the shoes we see, the legs. Let's my thoughts wonder to the people, where are they going, who is riding, etc.
