Pyrmont, warehouse

The inner west suburb of Pyrmont was once an industrial waterfront with wharves, factories and warehouses. In recent years many of the old structures have been redeveloped into residential and commercial complexes. This old warehouse at Wharf 17 of Jones Bay Wharf at Pyrmont has been converted into office space. It is currently the Sydney headquarters for the Seven Network, one of Australia's three major commercial television networks. Sydney Tower and the city skyline can be seen in the background, located on the opposite side of Darling Harbour.

  11. Bill showed us the McWhirter bldg in Brissie and this ranks up there with it for reuse. That entire area shows considerable mix of the old and the new with most creative reuse. I bet the inside of both buildings were gutted!

  13. Not a bad restoration. If that's head office, what's the one in Martin Place?

  14. Ann, they have their news studio, news office and merchandise store in Martin Place. They produce their live programs from there such as Seven News, Sunrise and The Morning Show. The rest of their studios which were at Epping and Pyrmont were moved to a purpose built studio and office block at Australian Technology Park at Eveleigh, just before Christmas. The rest of the staff from this building will also move to Eveleigh.

  17. Bruce, you have to pick your days and times. I took this on Saturday which was a beautiful clear sunny day but Sunday it was overcast and rainy. This morning was cloudy and grey but right now it's sunny and blue.
