  2. Jim, sunsets, boats and water just go together. I hope that you will be able to get a photo of the full moon setting today/tomorrow in the west or the full moon rising if there is a good water shot from the other direction.

I have trouble figuring out what day it is in Sydney but at least I still have the east/west and spring/fall thing figured out.

  3. Gorgeous capture, Jim! And what a glorious way to end the day! Marvelous colors. I, too, hope you can get a good shot of the moon, we're going to have clouds for the next few nights and I'm afraid I won't get an opportunity. Have a great weekend!

  10. Genie and Sylvia, I'll keeep that full moon in mind for the weekend. We're suposed to be having clear skies and summery weather. Australia is one of the first countries to greet a new day so it sometimes seems like we're a day ahead of you.

  11. Very pretty view with the boats in the water.
And you have a suburb called Banksia? Is it as nice as the flower?

  13. Lesley, Banksia was probably as nice as the flower when it was named a hundred years ago but these days it's a built up suburban area.

Trish, many years ago when this area was on the outskirts of the city, it was a fishing village and a vacation spot. These days, the boats are moored close to Fisho's, an Amateur Fisherman's Club. Fishermen take their boats from Cooks River to nearby Botany Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

  30. What I like about this sunset is that it doesn't reflect on the water... That gives such strange touch to the picture...
