This bronze sculpture of Queen Victoria stands outside the Queen Victoria Building, on the corner of George Street and Druitt Street. It was originally part of a monument unveiled in 1908 in the grounds of Leinster House, the Irish Parliament, in Dublin, Ireland. It stood there until 1947 and at the request of the City of Sydney it was presented by the Government and people of Ireland in a spirit of goodwill and friendship and unvelied in 1987 in front of the restored Queen Victoria Building.
