Russell Lea, St Andrew's Anglican Church

St Andrew's Anglican Church is located along Byrne Avenue, in the inner west suburb of Russell Lea. While the church gives its address as Abbotsford, it is officially in Russell Lea although it is on the border. The red bricks and white trims are often seen in triple-fronted houses built in the 1950s and 1960s but you don't see many churches built in this style.

  3. This design reminds me of an old school hall rather than a church. Interesting lighting too.

Thanks to Wikipeda I now know what a triple-fronted house is. I learn something new every day. Tom The Backroads Traveller

    1. I didn't realise that maybe this is a uniquely Australian term or maybe even this type of house design is unique to Australia.

  12. Wonderful lighting, but somehow doesn't look much like a church to me. More windows?!
