Department of Education, Governor Phillip Tower
The Department of Education building is located along Bridge Street. It was designed by George McRae and built in 1914 in the Edwardian architectural style. In contrast, Governor Phillip Tower along Farrer Place rises up behind it. The 64 storey office tower completed in 1994 was designed by architects Denton Corker Marshall.

The rusticated first floor looks very Italian Renaissance to me. A smart design, thank you.

Captivating angle, it almost makes the newer building look some how fake if that makes any sense. I prefer the grace and detail in older architecture but am learning to appreciate modern architecture as well.
