Glebe, Jubilee Fountain
The Jubilee Fountain is located on the corner of Glebe Point Road and Broadway, opposite Victoria Park, in the inner city suburb of Glebe. This drinking fountain was erected in 1909 to commemorate the golden jubilee of Glebe as a municipality. The sandstone column with Corinthian capital and ring banding with floral motif is surmounted by a bronze coach light. It sits on a flat quatrefoil trachyte base with circular basins and a polished face, that sit on a heavily moulded sandstone quatrefoil pedestal. The circular stepped platform with brick pavers and concentric sandstone steps was installed in 1996.
