Cockle Bay, mooring posts

These mooring posts are located along the western foreshore of Cockle Bay at Darling Harbour. This view stretches across the bay to Pyrmont Bridge and the Cockle Bay Wharf building, on the eastern side of Cockle Bay.

  1. Very beautiful picture. Is this a hotel in the other side of the beach?

    1. Heather, it's the Cockle Bay Wharf building, on the other side of the bay, which has restaurants, cafes, bars, a nightclub and a function centre.

  2. They have been painted at the top, but the bottom of these posts might not last too much longer. They have probably been there for some time, I'd guess.

  6. Did you know that Cockle Creek ran through what is now Belmore Park and widened out about at the Entertainment Centre to flow into Cockle Bay? There has been a lot of reclamation since 1800 ...
