Carlton, Baptist Church

The Carlton Kogarah Baptist Church is located on the corner of Willison Road and Durham Street, in the southern suburb of Carlton. It was built in 1920 in the Federation architectural style.

  1. If not for the signs, one could think of it as a library or an old fashioned train station.

    1. Agreed. I would have picked it immediately as a train station or school building, converted to a church later on. Not a problem...I love recycled architecture.

  2. Unlike the massive European cathedrals, this small Baptist house of worship seems a bit more humble. It is a lovely urban church...

  9. For me this is an unusual style. I like the red brick trim and the tile roof. Tom The Backroads Traveller
