Malabar, beach tower

The beach inspector's tower is in Cromwell Park behind the beach, in the eastern suburb of Malabar. This protected beach on Long Bay does not have a life saving club but is patrolled by lifeguards and a beach inspector.

    1. Functional? Certainly.
But not as glamorous as the normal structures :)

  2. Beach Inspector-- An interesting title to my "Ugly American" ears as it conjures up someone who takes a magnifying glass to the sand and sea shells! Of course your vernacular attributes the title to someone we might call a police officer with some status above a sergeant-- perhaps a step or two above Constable. Good thing I watch BBC mysteries or I might never had known!

    1. It's funny how similar our cultures can be but then so different in some respects.

  3. Beach tower is a good term for this. It has a good view.

  5. Plain and practical. What more does one need? I would like to see a little splash of colour though. Perhaps the lifeguards or beach inspector will provide that.

  6. I don't see a ladder. How does the lifeguard get up there?

    1. Linda, they bring it over with them from another building. I guess they do it to keep kids and vandals off the tower.

  7. For some reason that tower reminds me of one of the machines in Star Wars!
