St Andrew's Presbyterian Church is located on the corner of Forest Road and Sackville Street, in the southern suburb of Bexley. This heritage listed church was built in 1887 and is currently being refurbished while the timber church hall, on the left, is being completely rebuilt.
It is simple and refined. But why would they build part of the church complex in stone and part (the left hand side) of the complex in timber with an iron roof?
ReplyDeleteHels, the timber structure is a separate church hall. It has recently been knocked down and is currently being rebuilt in brick. I'll take another shot when it is completed.
DeleteThere are a great many St. Andrew's Presbyterian churches out there. My parents attended one for years.
ReplyDeleteYou take magnificent building shots ~with lovely touch of shadow ~
ReplyDeleteWishing you happiness each day ~ ^_^
very nice quite unlike churches here
ReplyDeleteThis one is so interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe squareish section on the front is unusual looking. The Presbyterian Church here in Launceston is named St Andrews too.
ReplyDeleteThe use of colour contrasts on the church facade seems quite unique to me. This little church has quite an impressive identity.
ReplyDeletesimple, but i enjoy the design. have a lovely weekend! ( :
ReplyDeleteNice shot of this lovely church in the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
