This heritage listed terrace house is located along Garden Street, in the inner city suburb of Alexandria. It was built in 1893 in the Victorian Filigree architectural style and served as the mayor's residence, next to the Alexandria Town Hall.

  3. I love this type of house - it reminds me of our beautifully terraces in Carlton and East Melbourne.
    But was it always detached?

    1. I believe so, Helen. it looks like they may have planned a row of two-storey terraces for the street but did not redevelop the other dwellings. There are houses from different eras in this street.
