Barangaroo, Sculpture at Barangaroo

"Sculpture at Barangaroo", a temporary exhibition from 6 August until 21 August 2016 in Barangaroo Reserve, in the inner city suburb of Barangaroo. This seven metre high firewood chimney has been installed in Barangaroo Reserve, in the inner city suburb of Barangaroo. It is part of an art installation called "Empirical View" created by Marcus Tatton for "Sculpture at Barangaroo", acknowledging the site’s history.

  1. That certainly is different. Its style, were it in stone, wouldn't be out of place attached to many cabins here.

  2. That timber chimney is marvellous; how imaginative a creation!

  3. I guess a bit dada but I like it. I wouldn't cook in it though.

  4. What an interesting and most unusual piece of sculpture. I really do like it. It isa real eye-catcher. genie

  5. So much work must have gone into the making of that fireplace...it looks to me that no mortar was used. If so, each stone would have to be perfectly balanced.
You always find interesting things to post, Jim.

    1. Kay, it's actually made up of firewood held together with wire, so nevertheless it would have required quite a bit of work to put it together.

  6. That's really neat. I love art, especially abstract art.
