Sydney Central Local Courthouse is located along Liverpool Street. This heritage listed building was designed by James Barnet and Walter Liberty Vernon and built in 1892 in the Federation Free Classical architectural style. It has previously been known as Central Police Courts, Court of Petty Sessions and Central Criminal and Local Court.
Majestic building and great shot with 'her' juxtaposed against the more modern skyline ~ thanks!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful week ~ ^_^
Hello, what a pretty building. http://viewingnaturewitheileen.blogspot.com/2016/09/walking-trail_25.html
ReplyDeleteThe architecture does appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteLook at the surrounding buildings - close behind, VERY tall and made from glass and ?concrete. Central Local Courthouse stands out by itself.
ReplyDeleteYes, the office and apartment buildings dwarf the court building now.
DeleteMagnificent heritage building.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me so much of building in San Francisco that I have never gotten the name of and each time I pass by it, I always mutter how I need to stop one day and walk up to see what building it is.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo with the backdrop of the tall buildings, but they have nothing on this beauty. Thanks for sharing.

Another grand building in Sydney's historical centre, Jim!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at the Travel Tuesday meme, I look forward to your next contribution.
Oh I bet the inside is just as pretty as the outside.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Jim.

Thank you much for sharing this courthouse with SEASONS - it has much more character than the highrises in the background! And the plants in the front give it the finishing touch! Have a great rest of the week:)
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely architecture.
