A couple of swans swimming across a pond in Sydney Park, a large recreational area in the inner city suburb of Alexandria. The former brickworks here have been transformed into parkland with four cascading wetlands that attract birds. Stormwater is collected and recycled from surrounding suburban streets to provide constant running water in the wetlands.

ReplyDeleteI am delighted that the old brick works are now parklands and wetlands! Of course the birds are loving life there.
ReplyDeleteI've only ever seen white swans. What a lovely, serene photo.

Amalia, Black Swans are quite common in Australia.
DeleteGreat idea they had to recycle the water for the wetlands. Wish they would do that in California! Many thanks for linking this great feature to All Seasons this week, with lovely birds.
