Darling Drive, monorail

A view of Darling Drive at Darling Harbour, in the inner city suburb of Pyrmont. This is a historical photo from ten years ago, before the monorail was decommissioned in 2013 and the track demolished. The footbridge over the road connects the Novotel Hotel with Harbourside shopping centre which closed in 2023 and is currently being demolished for redevelopment. The Australian National Maritime Museum can be seen at the end of the road.

    1. Sydney went back to the future with a light rail service built beside the monorail track here, with the Convention tram stop just to the left here.

  4. I always made a monorail ride a must whenever I used to visit Sydney, Jim. I remember those rides with fondness. Thanks for joining "My Sunday Best".
