Great blue skies with some cloud wisps drifting away I visited you via Skywatch Friday. My entry is #8+9 Please join and share your posts with us https://esmesalon.com/tag/wordlesswednesday/
It was a State Rail Authority fire station to service the nearby railway workshops, which have now relocated to the western suburbs. I can't find any information on when it was built.
It seems to be off the list of fire stations in this state so I assume the newer nearby Alexandria Fire Station has taken over its duties. There are also nearby fire stations at Redfern and Newtown.
It looks more like a warehouse to me but that could be because of its age (Many of our fire stations are 60 or more years old and have a certain architectural style)
A decent utilitarian building under a great sky!!
ReplyDelete...a few puffy white clouds add to a beautiful blue sky.

ReplyDeleteWas that building originally intended as a fire station? Do we know when it was built?

ReplyDeleteMost of ours do too. I figure they didn't bother with this one because it was in an industrial area.
