Arncliffe railway station is on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line, in the southern suburb of Arncliffe. The original buildings on Platform 3 and 4 were built in 1884 and extended in 1923. This view is from the back of the concourse where lifts were installed in 2016 to these platforms and the Burrows Street entrance.

I like the modern look, and I like the blue sky even better.
ReplyDeleteThis rail fan appreciates seeing it. Thank you!
ReplyDelete...no light rail here.
ReplyDeleteThere are still weatherboards
ReplyDeleteThe old stationmaster and ticket sale office on the concourse (now a cafe) is weatherboard. So they gave the lift wells a timber look to match.
DeleteWhat a wonderful history. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ☺
Those glass walls on the Arncliffe Station must have looked very modern back in the 1880s, even if changes were needed after WW1. They still look impressive now.
ReplyDeleteThe glass and lifts were added more recently in 2016.
