This ferry makes its way across Circular Quay in front of the Sydney Opera House. The Scarborough is a First Fleet Class ferry acquired in 1986, which is part of the Sydney Ferries fleet which operates on the Inner Harbour. It was named Scarborough, after one of eleven ships of the First Fleet that sailed to Australia in 1787.

I love the Sydney ferries
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice day to be on the water. Good shot!
ReplyDeleteA quiet moment where history and daily life intersect, as the Scarborough glides past the Opera House, carrying both commuters and the enduring memory of the First Fleet across Sydney Harbour.
ReplyDeleteSydney and surrounding areas are _very_ hot today. I hope the ferry has enough space inside out of the sunshine for all the passengers, and perhaps even air conditioning.
ReplyDeleteA scorcher. It reached 42°C.
