Tamarama, substation

This substation is located along Fletcher Street, in the eastern suburb of Tamarama. Although the building itself is quite unremarkable, the graffiti artwork on the door is fascinating. It features a skeletal arm and hand holding a Google Nest. The tag line reads: "OK, Google. How do I make an art?" It has been created by street artist Cam Scott, also known as Not Not, who has a lot of this type of stencil artwork in the area.

Eveleigh, Locomotive Workshop

The Locomotive Workshops are located along Locomotive Street, in the inner city suburb of Eveleigh. They were opened in 1887 for the maintenance and manufacture of steam locomotives. Bays 3, 4 and 4A were the Boilermaker's Shop, with Bay 3 featuring the Heat Treatment Room. These workshops closed in 1988 and these bays have now been redeveloped to house a supermarket, restaurant, a function centre and office space. Some of the old workshop equipment has been retained and is on display along the walkways.

Marrickville, sculptures

These retro sculptures were installed on the awning of a menswear shop along Marrickville Road, in the inner west suburb of Marrickville. More than a dozen were originally commissioned by the City of Marrickville as a novelty tourist attraction to coincide with the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics. Created by Ces Camilleri, only six displays remain on the shopfront awnings but the council removed and stored the rest, so they may appear elsewhere in the future.
