Carss Park, mural

This mural has been painted on the wall of a liquor shop beside a newsagent, in the southern suburb of Carss Park. It shows a historic scene from the area, from a century ago. An interesting feature is the bench with the words "Carss Park" on it, which extends out from the wall as a real sandstone bench.

Paddington, shops


These shopfronts with residences and offices above are located along Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. Varqa is a clothier and tailor, BWS is a liquor shop, Nature Bay sells clothes for babies and children, Paddington Nails is a manicurist and pedicurist and a Dentistry is above.

Lismore Hotel

The facades of the former Lismore Hotel are located on the corner of Pitt Street and Wilmot Street. This heritage listed building was built in 1902 in the Federation Free Classical Style. It has also been known as the Johnston's Family Hotel, Joyce's Family Hotel and Currier's Arms Hotel. It was demolished internally and rebuilt within the original facades in 1997 as part of the Century Tower a high-rise residential development. It now houses a liquor shop on the ground level.

Lilyfield, commercial and residential

This mixed use commercial and residential building is located along Lilyfield Road between Catherine Street and Lonsdale Street, in the inner west suburb of Lilyfield. It was built in 2014 on a former industrial site and has been designed to match the streetscape of former warehouses in the area. It contains a supermarket and liquor shop on the ground and lower ground levels.

Newtown, shops

These heritage listed buildings are located on the corner of King Street and Whateley Street, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. The three-storey C. Whatley commercial building was built in 1887 in the Victorian Free Classical architectural style. It now houses a Vietnamese restaurant and a travel agent. The two-storey former Government Savings Bank of New South Wales is a representative example of a Federation Free architectural style commercial building. It now houses a liquor shop.
