Bondi Junction, Holy Cross Catholic Church

Holy Cross Catholic Church is located along Adelaide Street, in the eastern suburb of Bondi Junction. This heritage listed brick building in the parish of Woollhara was designed by Austin Mackay in the art deco architectural style and built in 1940.

  1. The tower shape reminds me of a narrow ziggurat. And those protruding window features seem most unusual on a church. Fascinating building.

  3. This is a superb structure and very reminiscent of the churches (Catholic and otherwise) of my youth (1940s). It would be fun to see the interior.

Thank you for stopping by Ocala DP!
