North Strathfield, Australia the movie

'Australia' is the epic movie that was released in November, directed by Baz Luhrmann. The movie stars well known Australian actors Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman and newcomer, young Brandon Walters, who practically steals the movie. David Wenham, Bryan Brown and David Gulpilil are also in the cast. This week, 'Australia' became the third biggest Australian movie in Australian box-office history. A huge billboard advertising the film sits in a prominent position at North Strathfield, in between the M4 Motorway and Parramatta Road.

  1. Great pictures of a sunny Australia! and the beach. We are living in a grey, wet and cold country for months now.
I have a friend doing a trip of 6 months in Au, he is enjoying himself a lot!

  2. Have you seen it? I can't really be bothered.

  3. Yes, I have seen it and I loved it. It was ravaged by the critics in Australia, so my expectations weren't high but after I saw the movie, I thought they'd been really unfair. It's a great adventure film with a top story. I was surprised the promos focussed so much on the love story between Drover and Lady Sarah Ashley, the characters played by Hugh and Nicole, and not as much on the Stolen Generation story featuring the half Aboriginal, half European boy played brilliantly by Brandon Walters. And there was some spectacular Australian scenery that needs to be seen on the big screen to do it justice. It's worth seeing.
