Bicentennial Park, Silent Hearts Memorial Garden

The Silent Hearts Memorial Garden in Bicentennial Park, Homebush Bay.

  1. Beautiful! I guess I'm first to comment 'cause you're a whole day ahead of us?

  2. It is nice to see how well they've transformed the landfill into an urban greenspace. Seems like a nice place to go and see birds and other wildlife. I asked the other day about whether baseball was growing in popularity. Here in the U.S Northwest one upcoming star pitcher for the Seattle team is Ryan Roland-Smith, an Australian. He is a tough competitor.

  3. I vaguely remember hearing something about an Aussie playing baseball in America but I don't recall his name or any details. I doubt baseball will ever become a huge sport here because we play Cricket in the summer months, which has a very long tradition in Australia and many other Commonwealth coutries. There are probably more people playing baseball in Australia these days than have ever played it before but the numbers would still be tiny. Cricket, on the other hand, has a massive following and is a huge participation sport.

  4. That is quite a transformation! It is lovely.

  5. A beautiful and intelligent monument.
Thanks very much for sharing interesting photos and story. I enjoy reading this post.
