Coogee Beach is a popular beach in the eastern suburb of Coogee. This view is to the north, towards the doorway to the Giles Baths rockpools and the Coogee memorial on the hill. The view to the south can be seen here.
Beautiful beach. Thanks for explaining what I was looking at. There's just nothing like a view of a sandy beach and the blue of the ocean water against the blue sky. Great shots. :-)
It's now close to four in the morning over here in Athens, and I just went 'swimming' - thank you very much for that, as it is now more than two years since last I actually went. A wonderful Wednesday for you.
Ann, the city beaches are quite a long distance from where the bushfires might be. Coogee Beach is about 5 kilometres south of Bondi Beach, where they film the factual television show 'Bondi Rescue'.
Dina, the 'apparitions of Mary' were a trick of the light on a new section of white timber fencing. The nearby residents were fed up by the crowds of pilgrims who came to view it every afternoon, so someone demolished the fencing to solve the problem. When the local council rebuilt the fencing, it used a different design and 'miraculously' the apparition didn't return.
Looks like a great place to chill. And there's just enough crowd for me. I'm not the one that hates crowds on the beach but there's always a point when there's just too much people.
That is a beautiful beach, and since I grew up in Florida, I know my beaches! It's chilly and rainy here, so this is a treat for me to see this morning.
Steffe, being late Spring, sunrise today is 5.41am and sunset is 7.44pm. It was early afternoon, so the sun was still quite high in the sky. That's why the shadows were quite short at that time of the day.
Nice photos! it really looks wonderful. Up here, in the very north, we haven´t seen the sun for a month. Can you believe that? Grey is the colour of our country this time of the year. but we will survive, we re use to it!
