Circular Quay, New Year's Eve

These keen New Year's Eve revellers had already claimed their territory well before midday at Circular Quay yesterday. They had one of the best positions to watch the world's biggest New Year's Eve fireworks displays and celebrations on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Harbour. The banners along the quay and throughout the city promoted it as NYE X symbolic for New Years Eve 10 for the outgoing year 2010.

  8. I've seen the fireworks over the Sydney Harbour on TV and they are quite spectacular, even on TV! Great capture of the exciting preparations of people in anticipation of New Year's Eve. Your fireworks will be happening around noon or 1 pm here in California!

  23. The obvious warm weather in this shot makes «Louis» wish he were Down Under. While it is cold here this New Year's day by San Francisco Bay Area standards (47º F/8º C), it is warm here compared to many areas in the Northern Hemisphere right now.

«Louis» wishes you all the best this New Year and he thanks you for all your participation in Sunday Bridges.

  27. Thanks Louis. It's hard for me to imagine celebrating New Year's Eve at any time other than the middle of Summer. Even in the heart of Winter, I'm grateful that Sydney weather is quite mild and it usually stays way above 10ºC in the daytime.

  28. At least these pople are physically there, on the Goldcoast at Sea world, they put a jandal to "chop" their space.

In Singapore, at foodcourts, they put a pack of tissue paper.

    Happy New Year again.
