Botanic Gardens, Maiden Memorial Pavilion

The Maiden Memorial Pavilion is a sandstone pavilion located close to Mrs Macquaries Road in the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was designed by Government Architect R.M.S. Wells and constructed in 1929. It is dedicated to Joseph Henry MaidenGovernment Botanist and former Director of the Botanic Gardens .

  2. I like pavilions like this which appear scattered through our city parks, Jim. Especially when made from sandstone.

  3. The sandstone pavilions are beautiful and particularly suited to Sydney. Especially in places like the Botanic Gardens where you also see naturally exposed sandstone.
