This art piece was located in Customs House Square at Circular Quay last week. It was part of the promotional launch of the first all-electric car commercially available in Australia. The conceptual art display, "A World without Petrol", reused 38 old petrol browsers re-imagined as fountains, popcorn machines, balloon blowers, jukebox and this one as a fire place.
Very creative artwork jim. Looks like it would have been an interesting display.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds interesting and the artwork is too.
ReplyDeleteunbelievable what ideas people can get in order to sell stuff :)))!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great piece, Jim!
ReplyDeleteReally interesting!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteCreative indeed ... I wonder if we'll ever see the day when petrol pumps are a thing of the past.
ReplyDeleteThoughtful art. Makes one wonder what will Energy be in a hundred years. Please have a good Tuesday.

Very clever use of old petrol bowsers. Advertising is always more compelling if it is witty.
ReplyDeleteAh, very creative.
ReplyDeleteA very creative idea!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what that world will really be like.

ReplyDeleteVery clever use of the old items! Interesting...
ReplyDeleteGreat re-functioning and an interesting concept.
ReplyDeleteI loved this exhibition, I was down at the Quay without my camera, drats. So many funny pieces, I loved the pie warmer. I went back on Saturday morning only to find an empty square! I spoke to the cleaner who said that he had just finished packing it away. It turned out he was the artist and was grateful for some feedback.
ReplyDeleteSeems a bit weird to me.
ReplyDeletePeter, on the website it said that they were only showing it for two days and this week they're in Melbourne. A lot of effort for a couple of days.
ReplyDeletewhen things are seen out of place we notice so much more about them
ReplyDeletethis is wonderful
