Customs House Square, advertisement

This art piece was located in Customs House Square at Circular Quay last week. It was part of the promotional launch of the first all-electric car commercially available in Australia. The conceptual art display, "A World without Petrol", reused 38 old petrol browsers re-imagined as fountains, popcorn machines, balloon blowers, jukebox and this one as a fire place.

  7. Very clever use of old petrol bowsers. Advertising is always more compelling if it is witty.

  12. I loved this exhibition, I was down at the Quay without my camera, drats. So many funny pieces, I loved the pie warmer. I went back on Saturday morning only to find an empty square! I spoke to the cleaner who said that he had just finished packing it away. It turned out he was the artist and was grateful for some feedback.

  13. Peter, on the website it said that they were only showing it for two days and this week they're in Melbourne. A lot of effort for a couple of days.
