Rookwood, shrine

This shrine is located in the Rookwood Necropolis, in the western suburb of Rookwood. It was erected in 1972 in the Catholic section, in memory of the souls of the departed whose bodies are buried in the cemetery.

  1. I like the open, airy spaces afforded by this shrine. The shadows are a bonus!

  2. This is a very nice monument - a shrine to the departed, a landmark for the visitors to find their way - with the cross at the center of it all. A thoughtful post!
