Randwick Gates is an entrance to Centennial Park located along Darley Road, providing access from the eastern suburb of Randwick. The five sandstone columns with cast iron gates were designed by Government Architect, Walter Liberty Vernon and built around 1891. “Centennial Park 1888” is carved on the central column, the year the park was founded.

ReplyDeletePlus I love sandstone, love Walter Liberty Vernon and think a huge park in the suburbs was a brilliant idea.
