Surry Hills, St Michael's Anglican Church

St Michael's Anglican Church is located on the corner of Flinders Street and Albion Street in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. This heritage listed church was designed by Edmund Blacket and built in 1854 in the Gothic Revival architectural style.

  1. Now this looks so English, an Anglican beauty, stones faced and classic lines. A beautiful edifice that reflects the spiritual nature of its day...

  2. This is a beautiful Anglican church. Wonder if it has a red door as I am Anglican and so many of our churches have red doors. This architecture is not to be seen anywhere around us. It is absolutely magnificent. I bet that stained glass window with the sun hitting it is a wonderful sight to see.

  3. Funny. I also listed a St. Michael's Church this week on the other side of the world from you. I bet yours has lovely stained glass windows.

    1. Marcia, good coincidence. Your Ukrainian church looks great too.

  4. i enjoy the arches windows. have a great day, Jim!! ( :

  5. It's lovely, Jim! What an unusual steeple!

  6. Nice looking church that would not look out of place in the UK
