The former Rozelle Theatre is located along Lilyfield Road in the inner west suburb of Rozelle. It was designed by architect Charles Bohringer and built in 1927, replacing a theatre that was on this site from 1912. It closed in 1960 and was converted into a reception centre. It now has shops on the ground floor and apartments on the floors above.
beautiful building
ReplyDeleteGood to know that the building has been saved for re-use even if the theater failed to survive. It looks fine.
ReplyDeleteThe design is very appealing!
ReplyDeleteNice colors.
ReplyDeleteThe greys and beiges are certainly taking over these days.

ReplyDeleteI love how the architecture is so different (yet, faintly familiar) in Australia.

ReplyDeleteA very interesting looking building! I would never guess from the outside that there are shops and apartments inside. Nice catch!
