Marrickville, street art

This street art appears on the side of a terrace house on the corner of Smith Street and Fitzroy Street, in the inner west suburb of Marrickville. It has been used as a colourful way to cover graffiti and tags but as can partially be seen here, this hasn't prevented the taggers from moving onto the next available wall, on the left.

  1. It's too bad that people feel the need to tag a wall. Street art can at least be nice to look at.

  2. An interesting image. I was looking at some graffiti yesterday when I stopped at a traffic light. Yours is a lot more colorful than what I saw. Ours did not do the abandoned building any favors.

  3. Looks colourful! What a pity the taggers still feel the need to deface walls.

  5. That is a great piece of art graffiti. Sydney has some wonderful murals as I found out on my last visit.

  6. Graffiti is nice if it is used the right way.

  7. I like the use of colour in this so that it is more artistic, not just tagging.

  8. Good morning Jim, this is a very clever way to make the best of a bad thing. It is way more attractive than the grey wall by itself. A nice share for Blue Monday.

    Have a wonderful week.

  9. I like the colors, but too bad about the tags.

  10. If only I could read the signature. Always a challenge. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
