Redfern, Cathedral of the Annunciation Of Our Lady Theotokos

The Cathedral of the Annunciation Of Our Lady Theotokos is a Greek Orthodox Church on Cleveland Street, in the inner city suburb of Redfern. This heritage listed sandstone church was formerly St Paul's Anglican Church, designed by Edmund Blacket and built in 1848 in in the Colonial Decorated Gothic architectural style.

  3. Why did St Paul's Anglican Church change into The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation Of Our Lady Theotokos? I assume that the population of Redfern was changing.

    1. Indeed it has changed a lot over the years. There are also two other Anglican churches within the same suburb, including St. Saviour’s Anglican Church, not to mention others in nearby suburbs.
