The Memorial School of Arts is located in Macquarie Street, in the south western suburb of Liverpool. This heritage listed building was built in 1924 in the Inter-War Georgian Revival architectural style as a memorial to World War 1 veterans.
I always appreciate symmetrical buildings like this and the brick entrance portico with veranda. Is there any memorial to WW1 ex-servicemen in the building?
Memorials are important, yet I wish none of the wars had occurred and taken young lives. The building looks like it is a good place for arts. Very symmetrical facade.
I think it's great to have these buildings actually listed down as heritage buildings. Can't imagine any of history being turned into glorified storage units if they weren't being conserved!
I do like its style.
