"Magnolia" is a sculpture created by Bronwyn Oliver in 1999, which sits in a garden bed in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The same artist also created another sculpture nearby in the gardens called "Palm".
Hello Jim, love the sculpture of the magnolia in the Botannical Garden. Since I have painted the magnolia 2nd flower in this post https://artnotes2016.wordpress.com/2016/08/08/flowers-miscellaneous-sizes/ I immediately recognized the rounded shape with the heart opening. Really like how the artist's structured surface for this piece! Jesh StG
Quite distinctive.
ReplyDeleteIt looks organic. What is it made from?
ReplyDeleteIt's metalwork and I believe it's in the form of a Magnolia seed which is why it looks so organic.
DeleteIngenius & impressive!
ReplyDeleteI love how fragile and strong the magnolia seed looks at the same time.
