The Eternal Rest Complex is a contemporary chapel located on the corner of Barnet Avenue and Haslem Drive, in Rookwood Cemetery in the western suburb of Rookwood. "Victory" is the sculpture of Jesus Christ created by Linda Karfeld and dedicated in 2004.
It's a very modern design. I imagine that would also be the case inside.
ReplyDeleteMy brother in law is at Rookwood. I visit each year when we are in Sydney.
ReplyDeleteStrange chapel, but what a beautiful blue sky!!!
ReplyDeleteEternal rest is rather complex, isn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteIt sure is very modern and minimalist.
ReplyDeleteI like the contrast of the foliage to the geometrical shapes of the building.
ReplyDeleteQuite a contrast to the chapel in the cemetery in Long Beach, California, where several generations of my family members are buried. This one is sleek in comparison.
ReplyDeleteHello Jim!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful modern chapel.
I like your picture very much.
Happy Sunday.

Nice and very modest new architecture. I like it.
ReplyDeleteA blue sky and palmtrees, always nice to see.
ReplyDelete...a beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteProvides a visiting spot for families to connect.
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting architectural style for a church Jim, it's only the sculpture that gives it away. Good choice choice for the theme.
ReplyDeleteVery modern building
ReplyDeleteWonderful clean lines on that chapel!
ReplyDeleteThe chapel doesn't look too large, which I prefer in a place of worship that is labelled a "chapel." For some reason a small enclosure for me is more intimate. Lifts my spirit!!
ReplyDeleteThe sculpture looks intriguing. I'd like to see the inside of the chapel.
